Forums Other Destination advice Oslo Airport > Train to centre

I’m flying to Oslo on Wednesday and having a meeting in the centre of Oslo a couple of hours after landing. A quick search on Google maps shows that a taxi or train take roughly the same amount of time. Therefore, why not get the train! Could any of you knowledgeable HFP’ers advise if it’s pretty straightforward i.e. buying tickets, finding station/platform from the arrivals hall etc…?

I used to go to Oslo monthly as my HQ was there. Also working for a new company now and also based in Oslo.

Taking a taxi into town will be over £100. No one does that. There are two trains, the Fly to Get (Airport Express) or the standard train. The Fly to Get is double the price and about 2 minutes quicker to the centre. I just get the regular train usually from platform 4 from memory.

Install the Entur app to get tickets on your phone or to look up the timetable. Otherwise grab a ticket from the machine near the escalators down to the platform.

Thanks for that Graham – much appreciated – I’ll get that app. It’s my first time in Oslo…didn’t realise that a taxi would cost a ton for a half hour journey. Cheers.
