Forums Other London life Not London HfP informal pre-Xmas gathering

Having seen the dates of the Manchester Xmas markets being announced, it made me think if it’d be worthwhile identifying a given day between now and December for a HfP unofficial north of England drop-in gathering. Having randomly met HfP users in the past one on one while travelling, the insights I picked up in an hour was very valuable indeed. Nothing complicated, just a Sleepless in Seattle ending style ‘I’ll be at X place on X date, see you if I see you’ thing. Unless Anna has a big garden with a wood burning stove that could host a group.

Despite being a born-and-bred softy southerner, I’m finding myself north of Watford most weekdays at the moment. Mind if I gatecrash? If you are looking to invite specific people and want to pick a date, I’d recommend Doodle.

I was also considering organising a little meet up for Londoners as well. Your suggestion might prompt me to get my finger out!

I’d go to a London meet-up too. I can work flexibly.

I have a brazier that we bought during lock down when us northern lepers were only allowed to meet outdoors dressed in NBC suits on the 3rd Sunday of the month but I’m slightly off the beaten track! Otherwise it sounds a great idea.

Did anyone else momentarily think what I thought?

    I think so.

Back on topic. Manchester would work well for me, I live in the city center 🤣

I was leaving it a few days to see what level of interest it attracted.

Good idea, up for it if available.

Could be tempted if the date works 🙂

I’m tempted by a night in Manchester providing it works, potentially with a plus one, though would also be prepared to organize an evening North of the invisible order in Scotland if there was enough interest too.

I would be keen for a London one 🙂
