I finally got my Barclays card yesterday, and activated it today. I then tried using it to buy tickets on BA.com, and have not been able to get it to work. A first pair of attempts to verify the purchase via the app led to the verification request on the app showing up as ‘timed out’, while another pair of attempts using the text to mobile option led to a message from BA that ‘the transaction has been declined by your card issuer’. Anyone else have these kind of issues, particularly just after activating the card?
I think a few people have had similar issues – if you have a look at a couple of the longer threads in this category you’ll see the discussions.
Thanks, didnt see something like it on the latest page, will take a look.
Presumably you have done a chip and pin purchase in store already before your online purchase?
Not necessarily only way to do it but I did the following: PIN change at cash machine> chip/pin purchase in store> contactless purchase in store> online purchase using the card itself (without PayPal/curve)> add to Curve which worked online/phone/in store. All went smoothly.
