Forums Payment cards American Express No new Amex Offers

Good to know Rob, the offers of late have been pretty poor to say the least.

There is a big hotel offer from one of the ‘big 3’ chains coming at the end of September – in fact it will be (for Gold/Plat cardholders) the most generous they’ve ever done (BAPP version will be less generous). Was told this yesterday by the company concerned. Amex is part-funding it, interestingly.

And I still won’t get it on my card 😀

Well whatever it is, looking forward to getting it (or not getting it and congratulating others on their good fortune, as the case may be 😁)

Do you regard Accor as one of the ‘big 3’?

I would have thought the ‘Big 3’ hotel chains would be Hilton, Marriott & IHG

Will it be bigger than £400 off £400 spend at Marriott during pandemic?

Are we talking big in the UK? If so then Premier Inn is #1 for number of rooms and popularity…

I think it’s going to be Marriott. They are running adverts (pointless adverts that don’t really say or offer anything) on London radio stations so obviously have a marketing budget to burn.

My fee is about to hit for the PRG. So if its Marriott, I’ll just get rid of it now.
Funnily enough, on the PRG there is no KLM offer, but its on all of our (free) ARCC. I feel so valued!

    Obviously not!

Amusingly I never redeemed that one, because I left it late and then we decided to run off to the Middle East for a couple of weeks over Christmas when the London re-lockdown loomed.

So it’s not the biggest ever offer after all, although I suspect this one might be more global.

    Or it’s not Marriott?

And hopefully this time it won’t be only a select number of Platinum members who are offered it.

Oh gosh, there were so many angry people posting for a couple of days.

It’s the most generous offer I can remember (assuming it doesn’t change) from the company offering it, which clearly isn’t therefore Marriott.

    Oooh…
    50/50 IHG or Hilton.
    Places your bets.

I’m betting IHG though I hope it’s Hilton

IHG would stack nicely with the stay 4 nights get 10k promo I have at the moment.

It’s that upmarket brand Travelodge…enjoy your stay! 😀

@Aston100 there will always be many angry people as Amex statement offers are always targeted. And then there will most certainly be those who will have canceled their cards the day before and complain that the agents didn’t tell them about the upcoming offer…

Accor would be timely as I’ve 6 nights booked end of September 🤔

This ends 10 October, so you will have to act quickly and the start date might be pushed from the end of September.

Indeed. And of course another IHG promotion will be launched to coincide with the end of the current one.

Assuming it’s Hilton or IHG, I’d prefer Hilton as they take payment straight away so it doesn’t matter if the Amex offer expires before your stay. Hilton also tend to be extremely accommodating if you do need to move the date of a stay.

Yes but as usual I bet it’ll be limited to certain proprties in just a few european coutries so my upcoming 12 Hilton nights wouldnt be in those.
