How will BA convert old tier points to new tier points for bookings made prior to 31 Dec 2024 but flown from 1 April 2025; and similarly for any tier poin claims for flights flown up until 31 March 2025, but not processed by that date.
Silver Old: 600 New: 7,500 1 old Tier Point = 12.5 new Tier Points
Gold Old: 1,500 New: 20,000 1 old Tier Point = 13.3 new Tier Points
Life Time Gold Old:35,000 New: 550,000 1 old Tier Point = 15.7 new Tier Points
I am very, very close to Life Time Gold and would like mine to be converted at the rate of 15.7, at the very least at 13.3 because I am currently Gold, but I am guessing that they will convert at 12.5.
You left it a bit late to worry about this!
It’s in the Q&A on ba.com has been since 30th December. You really should have been pushing some travel into the last 3 months before your gap to LTG grows sharply.
You miss my point. Trust me I have pushed so much travel through in the last 3 months.
I have an extended trip to the USA in April which I booked prior to 31st December – worth 680 old tier points. When they convert this to new tier points, what rate will they use?
BA Web Site states:
“If you’ve already booked a flight beyond 1 April 2025 your Tier Points will be awarded based on a conversion of the existing method. This means any bookings you’ve already made will earn proportionally the same number of Tier Points as today.”
I’m unclear how they will honour “proportionally the same number of Tier Points as today” as there are different conversion rates.
The advertised multiplier shown somewhere in the FAQ is 13.3. Cash only flights booked prior to Dec 30th for travel after April 1st should be showing the correct TP based on that in MMB.
Thank you – I’ve looked hard, but didn’t see that. At least that’s better than the rate of 12.5 I thought they would be using.
For flights booked before 13:00 GMT 30 December 2024 for travel from 1 April 2025, that are marketed by British Airways, American Airlines or Iberia, Tier Points will be awarded based on a conversion of the existing method. You can work this out by using our flight calculator to see how many Tier Points you would’ve earned, then multiplying that figure by 13.3333.
