I recently got a supplementary card on the free BC avios card. Over a week now and no PIN has arrived. When I try and use it online it’s let me make 2 x £100 transactions then is declining anything else! Will this sort itself out when I’ve made a chip and pin transaction? Otherwise it’s not going to be much use!
The main card holder can get the PIN for the supplementary card in the Barclaycard app. It’s not obvious because at the early stages it shows just the main card, however it gives you the option at “Get Started”.
From the app front page select “More” them “Cards” then “View PIN” then “Get Started” – you should then see both main and supp cards. Select the supp card and go through the security.
I don’t know if the PIN will help with your issue, but for online transactions I need to get a SMS code for 2FA. Are the supplementary cardholder contact details setup correctly?
Thanks – it’s weird, I had one payment of £100 go through to Ovo energy but subsequent payments were declined and no extra security details were even requested.
When OH got his card it had a £500 maximum limit set up per transaction. He had to ring up and get it lifted….maybe it could have been done in the app but neither of us could work it out.
Thanks both. £500 wouldn’t be too bad! It seems to have packed in altogether now, can’t use it at all online, can’t add it to Curve. I’ll take it for a trip out to a real shop in the next few days and see what happens.
