We have just had the following sent from the Amex team after applying for a new business plat:

We appreciate your interest in a Small Business American Express account. To proceed with your recent request, please contact our New Accounts Department on 0800 032 7404 on option 1
We put down a sole trader business, but in reality its a little more informal than anything. Any ideas what they’d like to talk about…??
Rather opening yourself up to a load of “call them and you’ll find out” type responses with that question I am afraid! Without knowing what you put in the application form none of us can really help, and I am not asking you to share! It could be anything from them wanting proof of income through to clarifying a business address.
Seriously, call them, if stuck for an answer just make an excuse and say you have to go but will try calling back later, after which you can consider what your reply should be. It’s a financial product, not a job interview.
Edit: Just to be clear, I am not in any way suggesting that you should lie or deceive with how you do answer.
