Just completing a new application and there is a new section on sources of income. Would my state pension be classed as a state benefit?
Legally the State Pension is a contributory benefit. Although applications sometimes split it out into its own income category. Not sure about Amex though.
no, as you declare it as income on an annual return.
What are you applying for? My occupational pension is currently my main source of income so on things like credit card applications I put that I am retired, enter the pension amount as salary then other sources of income in the additional section.

I’ve applied for a personal Amex. Ending up just ticking the pension box as my income. Application accepted so all good.
