Oh how I miss the nested replies on the old daily comments post. So much easier to be able to keep replies on ‘sub-topics’ together and generally to make the conversation less disjointed! Failing that, a notification when people quote you would be good so that you can easily see when a conversation is continuing, rather than having to review the whole thread to the end each time…
But….each thread on here is meant to be each of the sub-topics you refer to. And by having all new replies go to the end of the thread it avoids you having to review the entire thread each time!
I completely agree re the notifications when someone quotes (or tags) you though!
We tried nesting in the first week of the forum (we can turn it on in 30 seconds) – it didn’t work.
As Chas says, the chat thread is the only place where nesting could possibly be needed and it isn’t possible – or indeed practical – to only turn it on for one part of the forum.
But what about the notification Rob?
Those would be really useful.
