Planning a trip to London next month, I know there is an offer if you have a national rail ticket you can get 2 for 1 entry to certain attractions, what is the cheapest national rail return ticket I can buy in London to qualify for the 2 for 1?

does it have to end in london zone1?
national rail london bridge to waterloo east or some other within zone one journey?

I think it just has to be a return journey with national rail logo on the ticket. Return spaced out from Saturday to Monday to be able to use all weekend for 2 for 1 entries.

Anything within a single zone is the same price, except Zone 1 which has a premium.

So something like Vauxhall to Queenstown Road is £2.80 (less with railcard)

You won’t get return tickets within London (or any journey under approx 50 miles), only day returns, so you’ll have to buy a new ticket every day you want to use the offer

If any ticket will do then I think the cheapest is Stourbridge Town to Stourbridge Junction

I used a 241 last weekend (not in London) and the guy didn’t ask for the ticket at all

Last summer, went to several places that gave discounts for this offer.
Not one place asked for proof (but we did of course have the rail tickets).

Did you have tickets from Stourbridge Town to Stourbridge Junction too? 😂

I’ve actually ridden on the Stourbridge – Stourbridge “train”!

The terms have been tightened up for a few years now. For London it should be at minimum a ticket to London Terminals or a nearby station to the attraction. How assiduously the attractions police this may be another matter.

Thanks Jay-Marc will probably just book a ticket to the attraction from the next closest station then….
