Forums Payment cards American Express MR points to Radisson

  • 298 posts

Looking at a two week stay in Skiathos, at the Radisson Plaza (I have never stayed in a Radisson property before). It’s showing in their app as 60K per night, which equates to 840K. So if my calculations are correct that would be 280K MR. I have the points in my MR account, but I wanted to check with the experts here before going ahead:

    – Does this redemption look favourable? Looks like it’s just over £2K last time I checked so works out to 0.7p per point
    – Amex site says it’s 10 working days for the points to move across, which could be risky. What do you all think? Is there any other way I can check if the rooms are likely to be booked up by then?
    – Is there anything I should be aware of before going ahead?

Many thanks in advance. Really appreciate everyone’s help and input here.

I done a Amex to Radisson transfer a couple of weeks ago and only took two days.

Your figures are all correct, even for the Amex point value around 0.7p that you’d be getting.

Normally for Amex to Radisson points, I get around 1.1 to 1.2p in value, but it all depends on each persons own personal valuation.

    Hope that helps

I personally wouldn’t use them for this as, like tw33ty says, over 0.33p per Radisson (over 1p/Amex MR) is not that hard to achieve – particularly if using for stays in places like London or Edinburgh (and I’m guessing Maldives)…..

…. but you’re not me, so if you’re very keen to go to this hotel for these two weeks, and this transfer lets you do it for “free”, and you are unlikely to find alternative uses for the points that have greater value TO YOU, then absolutely you should go for it.
