Ive waited over my 24 months and havnt held any amex cards in this period to be fresh on the scene with all the cards again and now i’ve found out that I just missed out on the BAPP offer of 40000 points (or more) which ended end of feb, totally my fault I know. I feel a little annoyed that i missed out on the extra points as i wanted to take that card to benefit from the two for one companion voucher. I feel if I take the card out now i’ll be missing out. Does anybody have an hints whether another offer will be coming up soon or any referrals which can boost it?
I may also be eligible for some of the business cards are they worth doing right now, I guess my question with them is if i get the business points are they transferable to my personal one or do they have to be used in that business account (sorry if this has probably been discussed already).
Any ideas on what the best route is to make up the lost special offers points for the BAPP and also what the best route might be for me to get back on the amex scene. Sorry for the bombardment ive been out the game for a while and trying to catch up into it.
amex points are points – business or personal doesnt matter both go into your account
exceptionally good sign up bonuses on business cards until the end of march – esp with a referral – happy to give you one but I’ll let Rob offer first
There is a big offer on one of the personal Amex cards launching on Tuesday …. sit and wait.
However, you should get the Bonvoy card first and THEN get BAPP or Platinum, which are the only two cards you can get for a 2nd concurrent bonus.
Thanks all. I will sit and wait for tuesday to see what the offer is. I was thinking to avoid the bonvoy card as i wouldnt make much use of the marriot benefits and the conversion to avios isn’t the greatest (i maybe wrong here). Would it not be more worth it to get the gold then the BAPP (or would that stop the BAPP bonus) as the gold would give more avois. Sorry if this is obvious stuff still trying to get back in the game.
any personal reward card other than plat will stop BAPP bonus for 24 months hence the strategy
If like me you are likely to struggle to hit the spend by requirements then yes start with plat or BAPP
No – only the free avios card will stop you getting the BAPP bonus, it sits apart from the other Amexes, like the Platinum.

Only a BA card stops the bonus for BAPP.
Gold then BAPP will work as a strategy, limits OP to only two SUBs though, whereas the max strategy has three SUBs.

Thanks Rob, interesting. I was going to apply Bonvoy card today. Should I wait to see the offer first?
