I am travelling LHR > MIA. I have a Gold Upgrade for One voucher I’d like to use to upgrade from Club to First. There is limited availability in the First
Cabin on the direct flight. Any advice for a connecting flight that’s likely to have more seats (and be new as possible equipment?). I’d rather not go through NYC so need advice on any other local airports – Atlanta? Etc?You haven’t said when, but may need to be more flexible with dates. MIA has 2 x A380’s a day and probably more First seats then any US route apart from JFK.
Lack of availability suggests a narrow window and/or short notice.
There isn’t an easy solution to this. You need to be doing multiple searches on multiple routes as using the GUF depends on F reward seats to be available.
If you want to do a multi flight routing that involves a further complication as well as you’d need AA availibility that BA can access (not that AA has full fIrst class other than on a few specific routes like JFK – SFO / LAX = you’d be in domestic first.
Also please email the site and have your user name changed from your email address. It leaves you open to scammers signing you up for all sorts of mailing lists etc etc
Using a GUF for First, you need either F reward availability (pretty scarce) or A class discounted First availability (less scarce) . The website only looks for F reward availability, but if you phone BA they can check the extended availability for A class. Or you can use Expert Flyer or similar to check out A class availability before calling.
As you are trying to book into First , you can even call the You First line for assistance, and they should know what availability they can look for.
