Please can anyone enlighten me as to how I maximise bonus points with new Amex card(s) application(s) having not held one for over 24 months. I am aware of the articles relating to couples achieving 186,875 miles through staggered applications however my wife still hold a Gold card (of which I am a supplementary card holder) but I now wish to cancel her cards to avoid ongoing annual fees & maximise bonus points on application(s).
Regards
Normally I’d say : Wife refers you for Nectar or Marriott then cancels her gold. You then refer her for BAPP. She then refers you for BAPP, then Platinum.
Currently the Platinum deal may mean that you’re better off with forgoing the Nectar/Marriott, and just go Wife refers you to Play and cancels gold, you refer her for BAPP, then she refers you back for BAPP.
