Maximise earning points value

Hi,

just looking at some opinions as I am a little less aquatinted with HH points.

We are looking at booking 2 rooms at a Hilton in Plovdiv in September for 2 nights.

I have a HH account currently only with 12k points and am a basic member.

Whats the best way to earn points on this?

Via BA Shop and then directly with Hilton:
4 Avios per £1 spent = £210 per room: 2 = £420 x 4 = 1680 Avios Points
And then what ever I will earn in HH Points. Not sure on values with HH
We have some cancelation flexibility.

BA Hotels & Cars:
£381.50 for 2 rooms including breakfast = £5725 Avios points
Cancellation fee of £93 + £35 administration fee.

If you won’t be staying in Hilton hotels often enough to get high HH status then I’d go with the BA deal every time.

Btw if you look under the ‘hotel offers’ heading at the top of the page there’s a link to info about HH, it gives the estimated point value around 0.35p, way less than typical Avios value.
