I’m going to be tantalisingly close to diamond this year. 3 stays short. Would it be worth chasing that down?

If so does anyone know of any low cost Hilton’s in the UK. Preferably low points redemptions in the southern half of Eng/Wal as I would rather use some of my points to chase it than cash.

    TIA

I’ve read somewhere that reward nights count for HH status but they never seem to get added to my counter!

But if you do a search on the map on hilton.com you can see at a glance which hotels are the lowest priced in the area you’re searching.

Day rates also count as a stay.

The Doubletree in Milton Keynes is usually very cheap unless there’s something on in the stadium that day (the hotel is built into the stadium)

I was going to say MK, too. But there is also Hampton Luton Airport.

Hampton Luton regularly £90pn. If you could stick to Sundays, the lovely Samuel Ryder Tapestry in St Albans can be £90ish on Sundays.

I think the Hampton Blackburn is the cheapest nationwide.

Hampton Rochdale may have trumped Blackburn recently! But both are on the edge of some lovely countryside and would actually make a decent base for a mini break for walking/country pubs/log fires etc.

I’m staying at the DoubleTree MK next Friday for £60 but not aiming for Diamond any more (though I will of course avail of a ‘one night chase’ if they offer me one in the new year).

Hamptons Birmingham can be cheap, seen them at under £50 this year

    Thanks for all the tips

Why don’t you contact Hilton and ask them to add them? Reward nights definitely count, even for milestone bonuses! It might be a glitch on your account.

Well I did one. Was quite fun roughing up the bed and wetting a towel! My wife thought I was absolutely crazy. She’s probably right. But I’m now just a stay away from securing diamond again for next year.

Yes Rochdale is a new hotel so some keen rates right now. Not been to the hotel or area though

Waldorf on Aldwych is approx £90 on a day rate. If you get there early enough, you’ll get breakfast thrown in too!

If you search on a desktop on the Hilton site, all the prices come up on a map. Round my way, Hilton Leicester, Coventry Arena and Northampton are usually very cheap

Do note that Doubletree MK have sold the car park to Just Park and parking now attracts £8 per night extra charge. Not that much in the grand scheme of things but as I am somewhat a regular and stayed 3 nights recently, I was a bit surprised when I got asked to pay £24 for parking.

This is becoming more and more common post-Covid, I factor it in when deciding where to stay.
