I am currently platinum if I achieve titanium level by year end does it mean I get it to the end of 2024 and then drop to platinum for 2025. I have no chance of obtaining platinum again next year so just wondering if that the best strategy?
You’ll be Titanium for the remainder of 2023 and all of 2024. There are no soft landings in Bonvoy as far as I know, so you’d drop in 2025 to whatever level your 2024 nights warrant
Thanks @Blair Waldorf Salad, I don’t know why but I always thought you just dropped one level so good to know.

Marriott used to do soft landings but now it works like Hilton – you get what status you’ve earned during the qualifying period.
Marriott Rewards did soft landings. Bonvoy scrapped them (without telling anyone) leading to much angst, and anyone who complained did get one for the first year.
Last year they decided at the last minute to do them again.
It may or may not happen for 2024 but I suspect not.
