– Is a stay like this valid for the promotion, if the dates don’t fall entirely within the promo period?
– If it is valid, does it credit for all nights, or just the nights that fall inside the promo period?
– Is a night counted as valid in the promotion based on check-in date, or check-out date?

It can handle bookings that straddle start/end periods of the promo, but the 2x nights will only apply to the dates that fall within it.
So you would get six nights from 2/9-2/13, with the nights of 2/11 and 2/12 giving 1 bonus night each.I know this because I had a similar issue last year and it counted the nights falling within the promo period correctly.
Whilst it doesn’t explicitly exclude it, I wonder if Sonder bookings would accrue the bonus ENC?

I have never known for STARS/Luminous/Virtuoso booking to not count, they are usually considered the same as direct. Obviously Expedia / Hotels.com etc bookings will be excluded (as is usually the case with status/points.)

They do count, since you book those rates with a real-world TA where elite benefits aren’t foregone (as they would if booked via an OTA).
