Good day to one and all
Seatspy seems to be showing a lot of Lufthansa Business availability from FRA-JFK in the next few months and nearly every day in 2023. 56k points and 30 dollars taxes. I would be interested in booking this one way. Any advice on how I could book them? I’ll create and Miles & More account but the points will be coming from elsewhere.
Problem is, I am struggling to find out how to transfer points from either Marriot Bonvoy or HSBC Reward Points. Anyone got any advice?
Thanks
HSBC has never been a M&M partner.
Bonvoy … let me explain.
There is a LONG running court case in Germany over whether M&M miles have a cash value. One of the charges against Lufthansa is that if you transfer points you can buy into M&M then, de facto, you can ‘buy’ M&M points and so they have a cash value.
Lufthansa has therefore banned transfers into M&M from all programmes that sell points, eg Marriott, IHG, Hilton. Heathrow Rewards is still there because you can’t buy Heathrow Rewards points.
Cheers Rob.
I want to take an LH reward flight FRA-JFK for 50k M&Ms. I have Avios, Marriot Points and HSBC points, plenty there of. Should I just forget about it? I’ve never been on a 747. You think I should I try for a Korean Air 747 trip instead?
