Good afternoon all,
Im hoping to try and book a flight from KUL to LON next July, ideally using Avios but also happy to pay cash if needs be. I know there are two MH flights per day on the route, but yet they are not coming up when i search on BA.com (either as Avios or straight cash), all i get is flights with connections. Obviously MH are oneworld, im not sure what im doing wrong here, the direct flights are there on Skyscanner and if i search on the MH website.
Can anyone please advise, obvs i can book directly via MH, but it would ne nice to check reward availability, but im confused why the direct routes are not showing as scheduled
thanks in advance for any pointers!
Try KUL > MAN or KUL > DUB
See if you get any results.
I managed to book (using Avios) in their first / business suites cabin this way (BA club from LHR), otherwise no KUL > LHR flights were showing for me.
Thanks for the reply! Interesting….
However i tried but for both get ‘Sorry, there are no direct flights for this route’
Which is what you get searching KUL-LON too – and its simply not true.
Im only offered connections via Singapore or Doha.
They won’t show for cash on ba.com
I haven’t looked since covid but they used to often only release 1 seat
Thats all i need – so will it be a case of phoning ? They are not showing anywhere on ba.com £ or Avios.
thanks for the reply!
They won’t sell tickets that do not contain a BA flight. You need to book those direct or via an OTA
It’s likely that there just isn’t any Avios availability. You could try checking on aa.com to verify
ah ok, that makes sense. Its only 1 i need. but there isnt avios availability for 1 on any day in June though to Sep. Oh well £ it is lol
thank you
I tried searching this a few weeks ago on AA and found nothing for the whole of July and August.
yeah theres nothing from June though to October, not 1 seat on 1 day
Just remembered, I think there was a few days with J availability via DEL with BA and MH. if that’s of interest try searching each leg on its own and call BA if you find a pair but it doesn’t show as through seat online. I get the impression the BA search has now been set up to return not all but mostly select routes/flights on Qatar. Even then it is only showing selected Qatar flights availability. For example LHR-DOH-BKK has a huge range of possibilities but BA typically only returns 2 or 3 of them. Somethings nitbright with this IMO.

I was getting those results earlier this year. Also via BOM too.
Unable to complete the booking online.
Had to contact BA and then wait for their back office to figure out the taxes & charges.
Don’t remember the exact amount but it was laughably high, and felt incorrect.
Try 17th July. MH4 108,250 Avios + £54. One seat available in Business as of a couple of hours ago. July 18th was also available but I just nabbed it 😉
Can’t see anything sensible for the return though.
If you’re happy to fly Premium Economy there’s plenty of availability MH+BA via Singapore.
Edited to add: personally I wouldn’t take any of the MH+BA via DEL/BOM options – 5 hours on a 737, no thanks 😉
