With the recent changes to the BA exec club, has anyone else considered trying to maintain their RJ status after the statusmatch year ends?
I status matched to Gold Sparrow last August and the website says 30k points are needed to maintain it. I already have 10k points from flying long haul in WT+ with British Airways (I decided not the change my FF number and credit the points to my RJ account).
I plan to do another long haul trip, earning another 10k points before the year ends. Then either do a traditional tier point run or even buy points? RJ allows you to buy points?
Has anyone else considered this strategy, do we think the 30k needed to maintain the status will apply to those who status matched too?
I am planning to try to maintain my status too. You would think the 30k point requirement extends to the status matchers, as surely the whole point of offering a status match is to bring in customers long term.
Is there an easy way to know how many points you’ll get from a flight?
Also says 26 segments, havent looked into it but presumably 13 short haul returns would be sufficient?
This calculator is useful for finding out miles earned for Oneworld flights- https://www.rj.com/en/royal-club/redeem/mileage-calculator
I have emailed RJ to confirm if status match customers have the same 30k points renewal, but no reply yet.

Good point, could be quite check to rack up that amount of short haul returns.
