Hey,
I’m travelling to Lake Geneva in the summer holidays with my husband and 2 kids (3 & 5). We’re looking for a luxe hotel that suitable for kids. Any recommendations? Thanks!
Can’t name specifically but Évian (French side of the lake) might have some possibilities if you are not looking for top end luxe.
There is a Hilton there, seems okay, but I am not sure how luxury it may be.
I’m not sure how luxury you are wanting but the Beau Rivage in Lausanne is lovely and has a kids club. It’s an archetypal grand Swiss hotel that has been very well modernised and isn’t at all stuffy.
The hotel is on a slight hill with terraces where you can sit and or eat/drink down to the lake level where there’s a big pool and modern health club.
Hilton Evian-les-Bains is not luxury, though is a very good hotel with a large number of rooms overlooking the lake with balconies. Breakfast is good, as is the pool. You are just over the road from the lake too.
They will also drive you in their car or minivan somewhere in the town on request, which is great for getting up to the golf club.
Executive lounge on the top floor has great views over the lake, just don’t plan for eating in the lounge.
The Royal Hotel or one of its two sister hotels could be a better option for going with kids though.
I agree with JDB about the Beau Rivage in Lausanne too.
If in Geneva itself, I’d personally go for the Mandarin Oriental.
How about Montreux just along the lake? We had a good stay a few years ago at Le Montreux Palace, which is now a Fairmont – I don’t think it was when we were there. Lovely hotel and good location. But not sure how children friendly it would be.

That reminds me of “Deep Purple, Smoke On The Water”. Did the best place really burn down and was the Grand Hotel, cold and damp?

Good the Palace Hotel Montreux is now a Fairmont but I remember it from a work do and wouldn’t say it was particularly kid-friendly. Montreux is also really a small town and not much to do there. Évian is a longstanding spa, resort and leisure destination so a bit more choice and more feeling of space for leisure and children.
Montreux Palace is lovely and very comfortable, but wouldn’t say particularly child friendly – I think the swimming pool is more spa orientated than child friendly. Lovely location though to be able to walk along the lakefront (albeit with a road in between the hotel and lake).
N update to my previous post as I’m currently in Hilton Evian-les-Bains. Booked a standard King room and was upgraded to a Junior Suite. Last time I was upgraded to an Executive Suite.
The rooms do need a little refurbishment to be more modern, however the setting and proximity to the centre of town plus the ferry terminal to Lausanne is excellent.
The heated outdoor pool is good to use, and access to the spa is available to Hilton Honors Diamonds for free, or if you are in a deluxe room or better. The lounge as I mentioned is basic, but has a large outdoor terrace to enjoy watching the world go by over Lake Geneva/Lac Leman. Plus, the sparrows are always tweeting away on the terrace which is fun to see them interact with each other.
Also a pool table in the lobby, €2 per game, if so inclined. Grounds are kept well with nice flower arrangements and plenty of wood sculptures.
Thank you @dundj very helpful information about Hilton was looking to a hotel in the area so will book this now.

That made me smile. Definitely Smoke on the Water. I think it was actually the Casino that burnt down and the lyrics were based on the event. Don’t know for sure as a bit before my time!
If you do go to Montreux you can visit the chocolate box Chateau de Chillon close by, go on the lake and go up the Rochers de Naye on a steep cogwheel railway with amazing views from the top as well as Geneva and Evian.
