Forums Other Airport lounges Lounge at Munich T2

  • 4 posts

I, the missus and two kids have a layover at Munich in May. We are flying on Lufthansa, so I presume it will be T2. Both the missus & I Amex Platinum & Priority Pass, but I can’t see a lounge that the whole family can use. It doesn’t look like Munich T2 has any PP lounge. Lufthansa lounge doesn’t allow guests. Has anyone been in a similar situation and can you pay kids separately at the LH lounge?

That’s right, only LH lounges in T2. I’ve never used the mid field one (always been closed) but if it’s any consolation, the one in the main terminal non-Schengen side is somewhat underwhelming…

Cheers. Maybe it’s a blessing in disguise 😉

Yep. Unfortunately I think you are stuffed. Only the cardholder can enter and I do not believe guests passes can be bought.

Depending on the length of your layover, it might be worthwhile heading out of T2 to Munich Airport Centre and Airbrau. A very pleasant place to spend a few hours, they brew beer onsite and serve well made traditional Bavarian food and its very reasonably priced (not just by airport standards but any standards).

Layover isn’t that long, just over 2hrs, so was good to have, if it was possible. Thanks for the suggestion. Might look at it if I have other flights via Munich with a longer layover.

I see Air Brau also have an outpost in T2, which is in the main terminal, non-Schengen side. Never used it but I did have dinner at the main one once before staying in the Hilton. It was great – but not sure a stein of Pilsner and a pork knuckle would be my no. 1 pre flight dining choice….
