Argh, I forgot to convert my Platinum Melia points to Avios (just had no use for them) and they expired 5 days ago! Just wanted to vent. Shall set a reminder next year.
Send them a polite email and they may reinstate them. Have done for me in the past
What Melia email did you use? Was it atencionalcliente.reservas@melia.com? Found this on Google as I rang Melia and was told to email them using customercare@melia.com which doesn’t seem to be valid.
Good luck!
Update: Initially, I was told ‘tough luck’ by Melia and then I complained about how they seem to reinstate points for some members and not others. They have now reinstated my points, but I must use them by 30 November.
Nice!
‘Use them by’ is a little weird though, generally points in Melia kept active by any points activity in the account. I assume in the Profile section of the app it shows ‘Points expire on 30/11/2023’? In which case I’d be tempted to buy a few to see if that date extends. At your own risk of course! 😅

You’re right, I asked for clarification and it transpires that things got lost in translation a little. CS meant that if I want to take up their offer, I must call the booking office and quote the ref supplied by 30 Nov.
