Hi, looking to book flights from Scotland to Florida on Avios. Miami is showing as 50,000 avios from LHR, but 70,000 Avios if I include a domestic leg first. This was previously not the case – you only got charges additional taxes etc, and I’ve checked the ‘spend avios’ article which confirms this (for long haul). Is this a change of policy from BA?
Sorry, ignore me! This is reward flight saver pricing which for some reason didn’t show up on the LHR Direct route first time around (we have some of our party travelling direct from LHR and some from Scotland). Please feel free to delete this thread!
For info prices are 70,000 Avios + £150 or 60,000 + £260 or 50,000 + £360. Compared to £900 cash price. This looks better value than previously (perhaps because cash price is quite high?) but even saving of £210 for 20,000 avios isn’t the worst ever.
Using a companion voucher changes pricing to 50,000 + £366.31
