Just a late update on this: A second attempt via Twitter to add the MAD-LHR leg to the existing 241 MAD-SJO SJO-MAD booking was successful and affordable. It was now 22,250 Avios and £126 for two in CE on MAD-LHR (£70 of it was the fee for a change in booking).
Good result, but I thought they couldn’t do financial transactions via social media?
They phoned me to do the final confirmation and payment transaction. Funny enough, it took three attempts because my use of earphones was incompatible with entering the card verification.
I have a similar issue flying MAD-SJO on a 241 and plan to arrive MAD 1 day early for outbound but when inbound would like to link flights to booking. Have not booked these flights as yet. My main flights are IB so would I do this through BAEC if possible?
