Has anyone flown this recently? I’m booked on the 777 in a couple of weeks and the seating plan was showing the new configuration so I’m hoping that it will be the new club suite rather than the outdated back to front mess.
However, it’s BA so I’m not confident that they will have carried out the retrofit of their planes on this route on schedule and I’ve seen nothing on this.
CS is not guraenteed but BA aren’t putting it in the schedule on a “maybe we’ll have a done up plane” basis.
In Jan I has a CS flight change to CW a couple of says before travel on the supposed all CS NYC route so planes can get changed.
I flew out to Miami to join my wife on a business trip at the end of January. The earlier flight seems to be the A380 and later one is a 777. On the way back my wife was on the 777 and had club suite, so seems it does run that route, but of course there is a risk of last min changes.
Looking at booking an ex EU multi city in J this summer with the return long haul leg routing MIA-LHR. Best option on price and timing is the AA flight – anyone had experience with this? It’s a red eye so I guess ability to sleep as important as service (which I know is hit and miss with AA crew)
No EU 261 if you take the AA flight. Usually not an issue; but I would book BA for the extra protection in case of hurricane etc.
The AA hard product is not bad at all. Not a class leader but better than Virgin and the old BA club world.
The problem you run with AA is the cabin crew is very hit and miss. Some really miserable rude cabin crew and some excellent. There seems to be nothing in between.
I’ve not flown them much but most of my experiences have been pretty good, plus I’m not very needy. I just want to watch my tablet have a bite to eat and sleep.
Thanks Biki that’s good to hear re your wife’s recent flight. Of course there is always the possibility of a change in plane but if they are already using the CS on the MIA route then it’s looking positive.
