Doesn’t surprise me given how much availability it had with points. Maybe they’ll use the plane to fly from Edinburgh to Singapore?

Just came on to post this as our flights have just been cancelled. Back to the drawing board for us for next year.

Virgin have to get you to Austin if you still want to go.

Sure they’d reroute you onto a Delta domestic flight. Sometimes it’s good to wait a few days before trying to allow them to set up their rebooking policies etc if you get any pushback

I think I recall seeing the excited hype around the inaugural LHR-AUS flight for VS in a post Covid episode of “Heathrow: Britain’s Busiest Airport”, so this route can’t have been going for very long if I’ve got that right.

Pity, as you do want airlines to be commercially successful, especially challenger-innovators like VS, and I had heard some favourable things about Austin as a destination that seemed genuinely positive.

    Tough industry.

Rhys was on the inaugural flight in June 2022 so it hasn’t last very long at all

I feel Austin has become a hugely overpriced parody of what it once was. It’s sad to see the now version if you knew the previous Austin. Classic over-gentrification. Those that live there or know it better may feel differently.
