Hi All. I was hoping to use Virgin points to book LHR-AMS-LHR on KLM, but when I search for on the website it says no flight options available. Tried changing dates too.
Is it not possible to book this route on KLM on VA website?
Will calling them help?
I have flown Ams – LHR previously on points so can be done, (not return though).
My understanding is….if you cannot find it on the virgin website it’s not bookable.
What dates are you looking at? A random check for April next year find availability. Would LCY work?
One thing to note is… payment never goes through for KLM online so you will have to phone to book anyway!
I’ve just looked and there’s availabilty almost every simgle day, 16-18000 points depending on the day in Upper, half that for economy. Not sure what’s happening for you.
But yes you’ll need to call and be prepared for them to say there’s a bug and no availability.

Can you book it without an error message? No you can’t, never ever met anyone who successfully booked a KLM flight online via Virgin. It’s clearly not an IT priority to fix.
Can the call centre book it? Yes
I book it often but never without a call. It is owrth it last minute when upper class cash prices are crazy. Call Virgin; the only way to book.
I booked online successfully on the Virgin website (desktop not mobile) for Norwich to Amsterdam return. Just flown it and all good.
I’m trying to book Edinburgh to Paris for early next year, and can’t get any availability to show on the Virgin website at all – I just get “Sorry, no reward flights are available for your search. Try using our Reward seat checker to find availability.#101638_A”
I have tried LOTS of different dates, and then tried other routes (e.g. Edinburgh to Amsterdam, London to Paris) and absolutely no AF or KLM routes work
Is this a common problem or something I’m doing wrong? (given comments above suggest online booking should work)

I’ve booked several AF/KLM flights with Virgin points — maybe try again next week?
I’ve always used the website not an app. After availability shows pick up the phone , you’ll never be able to book online.
I’ve been having the same problem and saw this message on the Virgin website, very frustrating.
Due to a system issue, customers are currently unable to book Air France/KLM seats with Virgin Points on our website and through the Customer Centre. We’d like to sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and our teams are working hard to fix this issue. We expect bookings to be available again at the start of August.

A few days ago I had the same issue; went on chat and the Virgin agent confirmed the technical issue, saying that they hoped it would be fixed in a few days. An hour later I tried again and managed to complete a KLM booking online.
