Forums Frequent flyer programs Other frequent flyer schemes LH FQ Renewal for cash/miles

  • 1 post

I was offered by LH to renew my Frequent Traveller status by paying EUR 500 or 50,000 Miles, as I won’t be able to re-qualify. FQ benefits are minimal, I do use the LH lounges at LHR and abroad occasionally though. I have just about 50k Miles, but not sure it’s a good deal. Anyone has experience with this? Thanks

€500 / number of lounge uses = € per visit

That’s a better way of looking at it and if you get that amount of benefit from a Lounge then clearly it’s good value.

But if the € per visit is more than a commercial lounge or eating somewhere in the terminal then it’s likely not good value.

Having had FTL on and off for several years, I’d say it’s very unlikely that having it for a year is worth 500 EUR. You’d have to be hitting a lot of lounges and you say you only use them occasionally, so probably it’s not worth it.
