We are in London on one night on 24th June for the midnight showing of Midsummer Night Dream at the globe.
We are wondering about seeing a show ,maybe Mousetrap , but we would have a couple of hours to fill between 10 and 12 in Central London. Any recommendations for somewhere pleasant to sit with my teen that’s not a pub? Our hotel is at Heathrow due to ridiculous London prices so can’t pop back there .
    Thanks

If you google post theatre dining, you could see what restaurants are open late and if you like the look of any of them.

Whilst completely failing the “not a pub” request, perhaps worth checking out Brewdog Waterloo. Brand new and more than “just a pub” – it’s massive so with any luck you can find a quiet nook upstairs – it has its own bowling alley (can book in advance), table tennis tables, can find board games there, and it even has an ice cream van and giant slide…! Though it’s a good mile away.

Edit: I’m sure there are plenty of restaurants open late on a Sat night in the West End too. EG Dishoom is open until midnight. Can also search by time on Google maps.

A lot of restaurants will run through to midnight, so an easy option would be a quick meal for an hour.

Since others are mentioning restaurants: https://londonist.com/london/best-of-london/londons-best-late-night-and-24-hour-restaurants

Since you’re also going to be on the South Bank, have you considered the Royal Festival Hall? It’s open until 11pm: https://www.southbankcentre.co.uk/visit/opening-times

Well it just about gets away with not being a pub (has quiet rooms in back, anyway), is not that far away, might interest a teen, and is open until 1AM: how about the Board Games Cafe at Waterloo. https://www.draughtslondon.com/locations/waterloo/

In general, smaller upmarket hotels will have very quiet bars/lounges/lobbies if that’s more what you are after.
