Hoping to spend New Year in Lanzarote and fly with BA . Whilst I can find flights over summer and autumn I cannot see December flights. Are they dropping this location?

No idea, but Tenerife is listed? They seem to add or cancel flights / routes during the year depending on demand / restrictions, but of course no guarantees…
just spent 4 days in Lanzarote over new year (travelled with BA) – a lovely island, definitely recommend for winter sun. Blue skies and 23C each day
So far only Tenerife for next winter. Seems unlikely they won’t add some further Canaries routes (but maybe from Gatwick), I’m keeping an eye! Although the fares even for Xmas this year were crazy low – Wizzair were sub £20 and it’s a long flight & BA aren’t great at making money from the BoB / carry on fees etc that the lo-cos are, so it might not make sense for their model. Though CE cabins are usually large IME

Lanzarote is a beautiful place – the whole island is a UNESCO biosphere reserve. Best snorkelling I’ve found outside the tropics, and some of the beaches are reminiscent of the Caribbean as well. It’s been blighted by insensitive (and often illegal!) developments in the past couple of decades but there has been a fightback by environmentalists in recent years.
There was a bulk cancelation when the BA-union talks about reduced cost LGW services failed, these flights were not simply reinstated when they reached agreement.
BA only released flights for July-August 2022 about a month ago, I’d been waiting since September to book flights.
I’d guess some winter flights will appear over the next few months.
