TAP changed my flight days and acknowledged in their email that i was entitled to a refund or reroute. Tried getting a reroute but they kept refusing over the phone and then said a refund would be provided by voucher unless i waited 4 months for refund back to original payment method. Submitted a case with amex and within 15mins they approved the dispute, Will obviously take tap to adr for gross breach of ec261 and never book a flight with them in the future but kudos to amex for solving this so quickly!
If you take a refund – or let them force one on you or if you don’t dispute any un-asked-for refund that is provided to you, you lose all your rights to reroute and the other things also provided in duty of care.
Understood, I booked an avios redemption in club as my trip is this weekend so its a different class as tap (economy) so wont chase the reroute fees but will still send to adr to highlight tap are not fulfilling customers rights as more feedback than for compensation. Im happy for just the refund in this case. They will not be receiving any of my custom in the future
