Iberia Plus missing miles

Completed Alicante – Madrid – Miami flight last week. AA tickets but on Iberia metal. Expensive business class tickets which should have given us enough points to get higher status therefore opted to have miles credited to our Iberia Plus accounts.

Iberia Plus numbers not shown on boarding pass but assured by check in staff that miles would be credited. Miles were not credited so raised a missing miles claim. Miles credited for short flight from Alicante to Madrid but claim for missing miles on the Madrid – Miami leg was rejected. Reason given was that “Booking conditions not met”.

Called customer services who have said it’s because AA use miles and Iberia Plus use Avios. Asked why the Avios had been credited for one leg but not the other and told to email customer services using the address contacto.iberia.com Unable to do this as when completing the form it rejects saying email address does not correspond with Iberia Plus membership number…..which is wrong as my email is correctly recorded on Iberia Plus.

Has anyone encountered the same problem and can provide some advice on how best to solve the issue.

IB is quite bad crediting miles from partner number flights. Try sending an email. If you dont have status send it to: clasica@iberia.es
If you have already some status change Clasica for your status (in Spanish: plata, oro, platino).
Mention your IB number and attach the boarding passes.

Thanks for the information. email sent as suggested. I don’t understand why they credited the miles for the Alicante – Madrid sector but reject my claim for the Madrid – Miami one when they are both on the same ticket. Hopefully I’ll receive a positive result.
