Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club How to remove companion voucher from a booking but keep flight?

  • 12 posts

Hi I booked an European flight with my companion as it was the best use at the time (so I thought). I have since planned more trips with ba and so want to cancel the voucher on the booking to use for another destination. The voucher still has some time left before expiry.

How can I do this? I checked and outbound has the flight available but return doesn’t for a new booking.

So I don’t know if they’ll do exactly what you’re asking as it’s not quite the same. But I was able to switch vouchers when I had one expiring before the one I had allocated to a booking after having been returned to me following a refund. So they can definitely switch them out.

OP doesn;t mention a second voucher, I read this as they just want the voucher back to use for a different trip, but still take the trip as planned.
This will require cancelling the flights and rebooking at the full avios price without using the 241 – however the avios seats may or may not go back into the inventory, this is always a risk when doing this. Cancelling will also incur £35pp fees.
Bear in mind as well that RFS pricing has been quite strange this past few days as well, so check what you’re paying before you commit to anything.

I may just book the alternative flight first to be safe before cancelling then. I still have time its not till June the flight
