Not the best day!
In May I booked 2 Latam return flights Santiago(SCL)/Rapa Nui (IPC)for 31/10/22-03/11/22. Excellent-been waiting ages for them to become available.
Also booked 2 x Latam ret flights SCL/Calama(CJC) for 04/11/22-08/11/22. Hotels and tours booked-all hunky dory. Other flights etc booked for Patagonia.
Last week, 17th, booked open jaw BA 241 LHR/Buenos Aires for 08/05/23; ret 25/05/23 Rio(GIG)/LHR for city break across Montevideo/Iguazu/São Paulo & Rio. Noticed it was new club suite out-bonus. Hotels booked etc.
Wednesday this week 2 emails received:
BA cancelled outbound and switched us to 9th – as usual no explanation as to why and so far in advance. No great issue ordinarily except that and Latam have completely unnerved OH and trip now cancelled-awaiting refund of Avios, fees and 241 etc.
Latam cancelled inbound on 3/11/22. Email said to click on MY Trips and select alternative flights-except there weren’t any alternative flights listed!!
Quick check on Googleflights and there is one on 4/11/22. Did some investigation of Latam web site for contact and rang U.K. no 08000260728 for assistance. Phone auto answered, in Spanish or Portuguese-my fault I don’t speak either well enough and call ended. Sent off email reply to issuing email address outlining issues-waiting for response.
Did more digging around and found another U.K no 08450980140: Engaged-permanently?
Sent a quasi complaint via website to generate some response to get flights rescheduled and waiting for response.
Auto email recd this morning confirming and attaching both flight electronic tickets to/from IPC! Clearly, digital link between the bit cancelling and other parts of Latam IT possibly designed by same crew that built BA IT!
The consequence of the IPC cancellation inbound is that the flights booked to CJC for 04/11/22 are now not possible and connection will not be made. We need those also moving back 1 day-and hotels/pick ups/tours amended.
Question- anyone have experience of dealing with Latam from U.K.? Any different numbers available? Maybe a bit early but I’d like to sort this asap.
Clearly, we’re hoping this is resolved soon or this much cancelled trip is stuffed and we’ll be stuck on Rapa Nui- although possibly worse places to be.

Ah, my post finally made it through moderation – albeit 1 day later.
As an update to my own post I received a phone call late last night from Latam Lima office, c22.30, whilst sat in my local. The very helpful CSA had read my ‘complaint-plea for help’ and amended all affected flights while I waited 35mins on the other end.
Very apologetic for Latam not issuing alternative online via ‘My Trips’.
Very impressed with service.

@chrisBCN yup, most unexpected but actually a great experience.
Conversely, BA today cancelled a connection flight to FRA for our flights to NZ. No great problem as they did offer alternative flights on line which work for us.
Just as well, not sure how many staff they’d need to phone everyone they’re cancelling flights for?
