I have seen a few articles in the past about “fronting credit cards” in order to pay institutions that do not accept them (HMRC). I did not pay enough attention and indeed did not understand everything I read. Can I humbly request, for someone in the know, to explain using layperson vocabulary how this works. I have tried a couple of searches to no avail and I assume that I am using the wrong keywords.
This should help a lot: https://www.headforpoints.com/2024/01/19/how-to-pay-your-hmrc-bill-with-a-credit-card/
Do read through the comments though, they have increased prices whilst crippling the offering, so much now that it really is a shodow of it’s former self. My long time membership was brought to an end earlier this year.
Not a big enough tax bill to warrant a subscription and fee for a transaction on the free card isn’t the best way to “buy” Avios.
