Hotel Del Coronado – San Diego

Am looking for a 3 night stay at this iconic hotel. the honors rate is 95k a night so am thinking of buying 160k for $800 which with the points I have would give me 2 nights and then just pay cash for the third night. Have never booked a room with honors points before so can anyone tell me when you pay using points whether the resort fee (which is $50 per night) and the 11% taxes are all included or will I get charged those over and above using the points.

Need to know to see if there is a decent saving buying points vs there honors members cash rate

Award nights book into the basic building which is not recommended. Very poorly reviewed.

The place is overrun with tourists, I’d stay elsewhere and visit for the day if you’d like to see the building.
