Not worth it in my case, easier just to pay by BACS and if needed buy some Avios/Points at a later date if needed and there is a good promo running.
Late to the party here, Corporation Tax due end of December and Self Assessment end of January.
On a £25k Corp. Tax bill at 1.85% would cost £462, doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense against buying Avios for example.I did wonder about the new HHonors Debit Card for paying HMRC!
However the company pays the fee on using COT at 1.85% – you don’t.
I do this with Curve Black (legacy/free) and stick through £1000 on my VAT bill every month.
I did consider switching to metal to get the increased amount per month – I also have legacy black etc.
The problem is I can’t get a straight answer as to what I would go back to if I downgraded in the future.
So I have not gone for this.
Once upgraded to Metal, if you would want to downgrade to the free card you would be downgraded to the current free blue card with no free Curve Fronted allowance, or the black card with the £1,000 monthly allowance for £9.99 a month. So if like me, you have been upgraded to Curve Black from Legacy with no monthly subscription fee, then you’re better off staying put in my opinion.

I fear that you are correct.
Just had a thought, my wife could get the Curve metal instead. Then if she needed to downgrade it wouldn’t affect me.
The only downside is that we would pay the monthly fee as opposed to the company.
Got an large vat bill to pay….. Decisions, decisions….. 😂 😂
