Hi all,
Anyone stayed here recently ? Appreciate to hear your views ?
Thinking of booking a one night stay over the BH weekend, 50K points for Queen accessible room with lagoon view…. is that value ?Ta
Given the colourful recent history, staff turnover will inevitably have been high, so expect a nicely furnished modern hotel in a lovely area with plenty of activites in the adventure parc opposite, but with the shaky service levels that come with staff turnover and poor onsite food. Compare to cash price that weekend and you can see for yourself whether it’s value vs 0.33p/HH point.
Especially on BH weekend book early both for activities in Adventure Parc and good local eateries (Groes Inn and Y Bedol are some of the best nearby). Note that the surf school is again replaced by an inflatable course for the summer, in case surfing was of interest.
Thank you TSS
Although i did plenty of paddleboarding when in Devon, probably will give the Parc a swerve as its more about relaxing for a couple of days.
However when i start to book the accessible room, it points out that they are designed for disabled guests ( obviously ) so dont know what to do now, we are not in that situation, dont want to get grief for taking that room, and feeling bad about it now… the other rooms are 121K or 143K per night, dont have that many and wouldnt “pay” that if i did, have to have a think about it.
Thank you TSS

We booked accessible rooms on one stay for exactly the same reason – only interconnected rooms available for standard redemptions. I put a note on the booking saying happy with normal rooms so as not to block the accessible ones. Got normal rooms with rear view rather than lagoon view (which is 100% fair enough as these are the “standard” rooms).
I’d book it and not worry; the hotel can always move you to a normal room if the accessible rooms are required.
EDIT: or I might have Emailed the hotel about something else (bringing a dog) and they swtiched the room category then – can’t remember exactly – either way it was fine and we just paid the standard redemption rate.
Thanks again, yep i will book, and add a note as you did.
@captaindave – I have just returned from an overnight stay here and have very little to add to the detailed points upthread. Hard product still looks new and shows no signs of its recent history. I checked in and out online and used a digital key so had virtually no interaction with staff, other than at breakfast where they were fine. Breakfast is a bit of a scrum with not much space to manoeuvre around the various offerings – go pre 8:30am if you want it quieter.
I booked a king suite woodland view which I think was the last room available in an otherwise full hotel. Decent size room for myself and two young kids, but sofa bed was on the small side. Freestanding bath in middle of the room was an odd feature in a hotel like this, even more so given that there was seemingly no water running to the tap/filler.
Didn’t eat in the hotel in the evening due to previous poor reviews and visited the Groes Inn instead. Food was decent but nothing special.
As others have said, location is spot on for spending time in the area and I’d stay again.
@grant – thanks for the update !
We are planning to book the Y Bedol for food on the Sat evening.
Is the breakfast gratis ? Have had to pay at Garden Inns previously, as just a Silver.
They sell a breakfast inclusive rate as well as room only, so I assume not, but in all honesty I don’t know because I am Gold. What I will say though is that the staff member who greeted us simply wrote our room number on a piece of paper with lots of other room numbers on it, no checking off a list or putting the numbers in to the laptop. It was busy and got busier still after we arrived so I’ve no idea whether any of those room numbers make their way in to the system.
Unless you have mobility issues in your party Y Bedol is an easy walk from the hotel. Closed Monday to Wednesday, I think, hence why we went further afield.
Also recommend Ye Old Bull Inn for food beer and wine, 10 mins walk up the side road from Y Bedol
The bath is currently out of order, which you only find out if you book over the phone and speak to them or maybe when you check in, they should probably have put a note on the website about it when booking. I thought Y Bedol was average, nothing special
We were indeed allocated the “accessible” room, which was fine, obviously some extra fittings and fixtures in the bathroom, which was a wet room. and the room itself had a fair bit more space than a “normal” room. Up on the 1st floor overlooking the surf( less ) lagoon – wave machine still U/S by looks of it, saw a few folks trying to balance on paddleboards.
Weather was good when we got there, so after dropping bags off, went down to the bar and took the drinks outside which was pleasant although got fed up of hearing very loud conversation from a group a few tables away from us, moved as far as possible away from them, as did others.
Ate at Y Bedol, having booked a table a couple days before, very busy, but the service was good and the staff friendly, the food was pretty standard pub grub, nothing special but did the job. Actually the meal we had at a place called TAL-Y-CAFN ( LL28 5RR ) on the way to hotel. was a lot better…
Only stayed one night, the weather on the Sun morning was grey and miserable, drove a bit further into Snowdonia, i wanted to find the church where Llewellyn the Great is buried, but was out voted by OH, i then suggested to find a quiet seaside place, but again outvoted as “nothing will be open ” so for some obscure reason we headed for Prestatyn !!! OMG Drove in and straight back out again…only consolation being that Rhyl would have probably been even worse.
Overall liked the Hilton and would stay again, the bar was really lively when we got back from Y Bedol on the Sat night, everything still looks quite new, and the staff we dealt with were decent.

Awesome! Thanks and noted!!

The surfing lagoon has closed down now.
