Considerable renovations on their way at the Hilton on North Bridge in Edinburgh.
It’s goodbye to the swimming pool in the third basement, and farewell to the function rooms on the first floor along with the restaurant.
In place 46 new bedrooms on the first floor and the restaurant is moving down to the first basement in what I think as the old Minus One club.
Is that goodbye to the only pool the hotel has? With no plan to build a new one somewhere else?
Is it not a brand standard to have a pool? More enlightened folks than me may have the answer.
If it is a brand standard can exemptions be given for properties located in historic buildings where there may be physical restrictions to what they can do/have? Or does it indicate the hotel may rebrand as one of the other upscale niche brands under the Hilton umbrella?
Thought the pool went years ago? Fitness suite only. If remember the last stay I was told building upwards on the roof area and more use of the lower room’s
