Stayed at the Hilton Deansgate start of this week, was upgraded rooms to queen deluxe which was a standard corner room due to HH Gold. Room was horrible, carpets unclean, desks stained and just poor housekeeping. Went downstairs straight away and complained to manager and was just faced with a blank stare.
I took photos but not sure how to share on here but the room was an absolute disgrace, should have stayed at the holiday inn. Never seen such poor upkeeping in a hotel, I wont be staying there again.
Sufficient to name and shame in writing here. Useful to know as I’ve mulled using it for Day Rooms rates if short for Diamond at the end of 2023. The HI near Piccadilly is quite impressive by all accounts.
I agree, but as long as people keep paying their silly prices they don’t need to do anything. DT Piccadilly is all right and is usually more sensibly priced
I was so shocked at the state of the hotel, this is what i would have classed a ‘flagship’ Hilton city hotel in Manchester, but it was absolutely filthy. Should’ve just booked the kimpton!
I usually stay either at the Kimpton or the Innside (very close to the Hilton). With Melia Gold, the Innside usually gives me a nice suite (it is called Townhouse or something like this), available to choose in the app when doing the check in.
Its a weekend party crowd hotel. Poorly designed as noise travels right up the tower. Indigo next to Victoria Station usually have good rates and comfortable rooms for an overnighter.
Thanks everyone, will not be staying here again and encourage others to avoid. Will try to seek compensation.
Ask for a free night certificate.
I have contacted customer service and they said it can take 60 days for me to get the certificate. Ridiculous. They have said they can only compensate me 20K hilton points, but the issue is that I can spend less money than what i paid for the room to get the 20K hilton points.
We occasionally stay if there’s an offer on, it is overpriced for what it is – I think it relies on the cachet of the Sky Bar for the aforementioned weekend party types. Last time we were here there was a minor celebrity in the lounge in the evening wearing a hat and sunglasses 😂. You still get roundly mocked for that kind of thing up here.

The free night is worth more than the 20k points so pursue that, wait 60 days, and get on with your life. Seems like a good and fair outcome.
Think this is where Arsenal stay for away matches. I trust they get better rooms than you!

Shudder to think what rooms they must be getting at the hotel.

Thanks I have gone for the certificate, never had one before so was surprised that one would be posted out to me, might just be an IT thing but would be great these certificates electronically.
I think this situation truly warrants the certificate for hygiene and cleanliness.
Push for it and make a note in your diary. Usually you get it within 4 weeks. If not, call and ask again. And follow the rules to the letter to use it.
Why I particularly like the Certificate is that when you use it “bad” hotel pays for the rate for the hotel you are using it in. That often satisfies my sense of justice. Because any sane person would use it in a better/pricier hotel allowed.
Checked in here earlier – 2 rooms and upgraded on both.
Twin deluxe for kids and King exec for us.
Both rooms spotless and so far, lounge and Cloud23 very good.
Hotel is fully booked tonight but lounge right now is less than 20% full. Managed to grab a cheap 2 x points rate for both rooms so a fair result so far.

Amazing, I stayed on the 14th floor so if you avoid that then great! Are you Diamond with Hilton? I hope the receptions staff are nice as I’ve had foul customer service whilst staying there.
The kids had a twin deluxe on floor 14 whilst we had a king exec on floor 22. I am Diamond and we got all 4 of us access into the lounge and free breakfast whilst checking in. The reception staff were great.
Had a good stay – nothing spectacular but a lot better than I feared after reading this review at the start of the week. I hope you get your cert sorted for the issues you had.

Thanks Scottpat78. Glad to hear all was well with your stay. Saddened to see the state of the hotel though, floor 14 I would avoid.
