Why unlike the IHG and Marriott apps, Hilton just cannot seem to understand the benefit of giving its users the option of viewing hotel rates in GBP rather than just local currency!!
You would think this would be a fairly simple fix via an app update.Can’t you just use a currency conversion app like I do?

You also get the annoying US system of not showing you the full price till you go to the booking page, where it then doubles due to taxes etc! On the website you get the full nightly charge displayed from the start.

The US hotel taxes over there make Diamond benefits virtually non-existent. That urban destination fee basically wipes off the value of the dining credit (which they replaced the free breakfast with).
Not just the destination fee, though, the equivalent of VAT, etc, can literally double the headline price! Another reason to book with points at properties which charge these fees, though.
Wow. Wasn’t aware of this. We’re in NY next year – staying at Hampton 35th St. I did check ahead with the hotel and they confirmed the price shown on app is the total with all taxes included etc., so will see.
But at least the breakfast is one less thing to worry about!You would have got the full price at the payment page and on your confirmation. I think most Hamptons don’t charge a resort fee (yet).
