Rob can I make a suggestion for next time that you use a different colour for the badges of industry guests? That would make them stand out a bit more.
Unfortunately the only name tag I managed to spot was the Global Airlines man who I would have loved to chat to but unfortunately he walked so quickly past me that I would have had to run to catch up with him.
There were several other groups of people but it was difficult to tell whether any of the people was an industry person and I felt a little uncomfortable just joining a group already in conversation.

Maybe they like it that way. ie introductions from someone rather than cold approaches
Not sure how many of you noticed but the CEO of BA Euroflyer, Tom Stoddart, was there. He is a great guy to meet – few people know that he is a qualified pilot and actually flies a couple of BA Euroflyer services each month to keep his licence active!
Tom very graciously reviewed our son’s Skyflier logbook and, of course, noticed that he’s flown quite a few of the plane reg numbers listed… I should have gotten him to sign it!
Was lots and fun, and great to meet a few of you, including SSS and your lovely guide dog.

Amy. It was great chatting to you. You give off beautiful vibes. Lots of us geeks are very introverted. I usually hate gatherings where I know nobody. Scares me s..tress. Amy B too! We made a plan to talk to as many Reps as possible.
It really helped that Rhys put out the instructions telling us that the reps wanted to speak to us. That gave us the strength to approach people. We met you, Connie and some lovely people.
Wonderful too to meet Matt from Matt’s Planet on YouTube. Love his videos……
I think I unintentionally give off ‘Don’t speak to me’ vibes as I only met a lovely man called Roy and his daughter. Would love to have met more of you. I was sat on an outside sofa for the first half being shy and eyeing harissa canapés though! Spent the last half an hour before/during raffle standing chatting at a table with Rob’s delightful wife Connie. Lovely evening.

Sorry to have missed you Roy. I had a night of thirds: first third hunting canapés and working up a sweat so had to cool off outside, second third in the queue at the worst time (raffle) and bewildered as to whether i was in a queue at all, final third stumbling into forum posters while saying my goodbyes on my way out (which took about 90mins). Thanks to Rhys who had to unpin my badge for me as i’m now so ancient I can’t see small things like safety pins!

Roy! I knew that I knew a Roy from here but couldn’t place the pic. Now I remember. Pleasure to meet you and your daughter, I hope you enjoy your forthcoming tier point run. I really wanted to speak to Matt too as I watch (most) of his videos but I was too shy to approach anyone 🙄. A lifetime of being socially awkward, doesn’t get easier with age.
I would have loved to have met you Amy and will look out for you hiding somewhere if I make it to the next one! you can join “the coven” (me, Cat and Polly) if you like, they know everyone 🙂
Btw did anyone make it back to the venue yet and liberate Mr X and the Wizz rep from the toilets ?

I heard the wiz air rep is still trying to out run the bailiffs for unpaid EU 261 claims…

I wanted to meet you too. In fact you were my first choice to offer a spare ticket to which is why I asked much earlier in this thread if you were wanting to come, (but I gathered you couldn’t). You have been a big help to me in the past and if I could have helped you out with a ticket I’d have been really pleased. Happy to be a part of any future ‘coven’. 🙂

may I join the coven too, want to meet you all at some point too ☺️
Really hope we can all make the next one. Sad to miss this year’s one. Would be nice to meet some more of you…
But as @Rob explained in the other post, he doesn’t get much notice of the date from the sponsor. So, just hope we are free next time… Maybe, just maybe we might get another winter one. A great party atmosphere. Until next time then….. We just keep on helping each other out online here as much as possible…..We are going to try to lock in 2024 sooner rather than later (in terms of sponsor) – there is a window now where people who came last week would be keen to sign for 2024.
However with Euro 2024 running to 14th July we are going to struggle to get a date which won’t risk a clash. There are virtually no rest dates in the first fortnight – only Thu 27th June would work. Wed 3 / Thu 4 July may also work if we are willing to cut across Wimbledon.
Football schmootball. Perhaps scheduling it with a clash will help temper demand and sort out the ‘real’ fans from the hangers on?

Considering the demographic of attendees, I’d have thought a schedule clash with Eurovision would be the greater concern.

Eurovision final always wins, not a football fan though lol
