Hi,
I’ve been a frequent visitor to the T5 Club Europe Lounge over the past 2 months. I usually fly home on a Thursday, but I feel like I’m getting a little bored of the food (which isn’t great). Everytime you can pretty much guess what’s on offer as it’s been the same hot food every single time which is either:
Rice
Some veggies
Chicken Curry
Pasta with Mushrooms
My question is do they literally serve the same food all the time? It’s been like this for past 2 months now. The only thing that’s really changed are the desserts and maybe on the odd occasion the flavour of the packet of crisps they offer.
It’d be good if they change the food more often, but I’d be interested to know if others have experienced the same.
Thanks
It’s not just the Club Europe lounge, sadly, it’s for everyone who’s not either gold or travelling in F!
I was in there on Monday and the selections looked more extensive than that, e.g. there was veggie red Thai curry as well as the chicken curry, plus a big selection of salad items, goat cheese tart, nachos and salsa, plus a very nice selection of afternoon tea items and cheese and biscuits. But yes, they tend to serve the same dishes for a few months then change the menu.
I quite like the fishcakes and potatoes and there’s usually some kind of pasta with pesto that’s okay. Fine dining it isn’t, more school dinners but with Whispering Angel…
I do like that they seem to have added more non alcoholic gins. Delicious.
Maybe they do the same food on the same days then as I’ve never seen fish cakes, thai red curry or pesto pasta. I tend to get a late evening flight most Thursdays and it’s been the same menu each time for me unfortunately.
I’m astonished that you guys didn’t mention the ice cream fridge 🙂 it is Jude’s
I’ve typically found they do mini pies mash and gravy too but that might just be the BA T3 Club lounge. Would be odd that isn’t also in T5?

Is this hidden or have I simply been blind the whole time as I don’t think I’ve ever seen this?

See that sounds fantastic with me being a northerner, but not something thats been a option for me (sad face).
It’s been the same sort of slop since the first time I set foot in there in 2013.
Apparently during covid they had some nicer food, but I missed all of that and it was back to slop in mid 2022.

It was placed a bit off from the main food section

Mini pies seem to have been removed and replaced by lighter more summery tarts – pea and something the other week

Oh yes – saw it for the first time on Monday. The mango sorbet is delicious!
