Can anyone recommend a taxi/car company that can take us to Heathrow from north London (N8)? I’ve had disappointing experiences with a few of the local minicab companies.
Addison Lee have been surprisingly reasonable for me recently, so worth checking. Otherwise Uber does that reserve option now which I’ve had a couple of friends use and it’s worked out fine.
I have in the past used minicabit, BA Transfer (have put their prices up now though) and Britannia Airport cars
I gave Uber Reserve a go for a very early Heathrow trip three weeks ago and it was fine. Weirdly, I was going to use it again for a very early Eurostar trip last weekend and it was almost twice the price or a regular uber (£37 v £19) so I decided to risk it and request a regular uber at 4:30am when I needed it, which worked out fine.
Moral of the story, check the prices of Uber Reserve and if you have a back up option, wait!
Thanks, both, very helpful. I’ve found AL availability very poor since COVID, and the app currently won’t let me book that far in advance, but I will look closer to the time.
I use VECL for work and business. They are Cambridge based but have London drivers as well. Assuming you want somebody on the way home, they have been outstanding when dealing with change including rerouting to different airports or cancellations.

I’ve used http://www.247airporttransfer.co.uk a number of times from N8 and N6.
They always arrived on time with clean cars and friendly drivers.
That said, the big caveat is that I haven’t used them since pre-COVID. These days I tend more to get the bus and tube either to Tottenham Court Road or Paddington, and the Elizabeth Line or Heathrow Express from there.
