Forums Other Flight changes and cancellations help Have I just been Qatar’d?

  • 7 posts

    Hi all!

I’m flying to Kuala Lumpur via Doha with Qatar (was a somewhat fortunate re-book after BA cancelled KL back in October).

Was super excited for this as was showing as Q-Suite for all flights, however now the flight from Doha – KL is showing differently in the app. The difference is the Doha – KL flight now no longer says QSuite, however our reserved seats for that flight haven’t changed and still show the QSuite configuration when I check them on Qatar’s website / app.

Any advice super appreciated! Flight in question is QR852 on 25th Dec 2024.

I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Unless you’re travelling on your own or privacy-focused, all of the J configs are solid. Even the old 2-2-2 minipod cabin is very spacious and comfortable and about as good as a mid-00s product gets.

According to Expert Flyer, QR852 DOH-KUL on 25/12/24 is a 777-300ER with QSuite

Thanks so much for this – I don’t have Expert Flyer but thinking maybe I should check it out. I’ve been using SeatGuru but I’ve found it’s not always very accurate… Or it will pull up the correct aircraft but can’t determine which configuration it is and just gives you the option of X amount of configurations that the airline has for that type.

SeatGuru is very much out of date and useless. Hasn’t been updated for years. It really should be taken down.

Try AeroLopa.com for the best quality seatmaps given an aircraft type, and seatmaps.com for identifying the aircraft type from the flight details.

ExpertFlyer is brilliant for checking seatmaps – including seat availability – and getting alerts when Qatar inevitably change the aircraft so you can quickly re-select seats or change flights.
