The first new benefit is that a minimum of 12 award seats will be initially available on every Virgin Atlantic-operated flight as soon as the flight is put on sale. These minimum twelve seats will be available as:Two seats in Upper Class
Two seats in Premium
Eight seats in Economy[…]
The second new benefit allows Gold members to book a “Gold Reward Seat”. This allows Gold members to pay for a reward seat in any cabin, even when there is no A, P, or G fares available. You’ll need to pay double the usual points and book more than 60 days in advance.

I was surprised but delighted to see this, especially since it brings the benefits of FC closer to BAEC but also means that I can splurge more points on guaranteed availability in reward buckets. In all, very positive!
Guaranteeing reward seats is long over due. Issue is you have to phone up to book them. Should be able to do it online. VA credit card 2-4-1 & comoanion tickets take forever to process.
Annoyingly, the one destination I especially want to use my voucher for (Grenada), has been ‘highlighted’ on the website, which means this guaranteed reward availability doesn’t apply to it 😒
