I’m looking to book two rooms at the Conrad Bali. One room for my wife and 2 kids. Another room for my sister-in-law and her 2 kids.
I’m the only one with status (Diamond). Will we all receive the free breakfast? It influences which rate I’ll choose for room booking.
In theory, they wont be getting any status benefits as the elite member is not staying.
Some have had success booking in status holder name, but adding the partner / staying person as a named member in the booking.
Ultimately, you are left to the hotel’s mercy on extending the benefits.
In the T&Cs only the status member staying in a room and one other person in the same room gets free breakfast. Sometimes hotels extend this to others in the same room or same booking but no guarantee that they will as they don’t have to. And as @BBbetter says, if you’re not staying at all then no free breakfasts should be given.
Do you mean “my wife and I and 2 kids”?!
As others have said, you need to be there.
When booking 2 rooms (with me there!), I’ve had a good strike
rate of breakfast for all, but not 100%.
Having said that, if the kids are aged 11 or under, I think they should
get free breakfast anyway?
*** disregard. Incorrect info ***
Thanks everyone for the feedback. To clarify – yes, I’m going as well – our marriage hasn’t got to the stage where she takes the kids and leaves me at home for my own holiday 🙂
So… One room for me, my wife and 2 kids (ages 3 and 4). Another room for my sister-in-law and her 2 kids (ages 2 and 5).
It’s been hit and miss for me when booking 2 rooms, even if I’ve had one room (suite) with 2 adults and 2 kids some hotels have charged me for the kids and some have been free.
Since my HH Gold status is from Platinum (and my wife is supplementary) we are both Gold so I now book 1 room in each name. Now that Hilton allows points transfer to other family members this works well and you actually end up with more points than 2 rooms in 1 name as you hit the bonuses on 2 accounts.
Is your wife also an HH Gold?, can you put her name down on the second room (even if she is staying in your room).

This is exactly what we do. And it works..As long as one of the people registered to a room is gold the other person gets breakfast
