It looks like I missed the platinum GHA status through business traveler deal (expired end Nov last year) – does anyone know of anything similar?
I’ve got a few stays coming up in Asia where it could be useful.
I’ve seen a few sites offering to sell status, e.g. Titanium for $119, but it seems rather dodgy.
They do status match, provided you have the following requirements:
An active GHA DISCOVERY membership
At least one overnight stay in any member hotel within the last 24 months
Screenshots or images of the current elevated tier status with the approved alternate brand are provided. Documentation must clearly show your name, tier status, and future expiry date.
I managed to get Titanium status until the end of 2025, about a week after staying with one of their brands in the previous month. I had Platinum Elite status with the IHG when I applied, so that is at least one fast-track route.
Another route to get the status is to go to https://www.asmallworld.com/emirates-gha, which is a very expensive way of getting the status (At least USD 5,490!). I came across this option when I received the email from the GHA linking to it.
Thanks for the ideas, Joe.
Wasn’t aware of the Emirates option, but probably not worth it given the cost & I don’t think I would use the miles.
I have applied for the status match, but will probably be declined as I don’t have a previous stay (none near me). For reference for anyone else, there appears to be plenty of NH hotels that can be had for <€100, e.g. in the Netherlands.
Instant Titanium if you know anyone who has a Mastercard World Elite issued in Asia Pacific.

Sadly none that I know well enough to ask for a favour!
If you fancy a cruise (bit niche) but you can get Titanium and D$ when booking a RSSC cruise.
Park Royal Singapore was good for status recognition recently.

Thanks – probably too tight to fit in before my trip, but worth bearing in mind for the future.
Had an update on my status match request as well – they said they would match to Hilton once I have at least one GHA stay on my account, which unfortunately doesn’t help as none nearby!
Appreciate all the suggestions – think it’s just a case of booking a room I’ll be happy with & hoping for the best.
I might be able to gift you titanium status … contact HFP for them to share my email

Thanks, Simon – that’s very generous. (And apologies for the delay replying!)
May be too late now, but I’ve just seen the deal with Business Traveller appears to be back on
https://www.businesstraveller.com/ghaofferap/
“Save 40% on your Business Traveller Asia-Pacific subscription and get Platinum membership of GHA DISCOVERY”
When I click through this link it suggests that this is only valid for anyone residing in “Asia Pacific” or am I reading this incorrectly…

I just paid via the link (~£11) and then emailed Subscriptions@businesstraveller.com to get them to upgrade. It wasnt very obvious how to get the upgrade but I found it on another older link
Thanks for this.
I’ve just had a reply from GHA telling me my status has been upgraded, following my Business Traveller subscription. They’ve also got a 3x Discovery $ promotion on at the moment, although I have no idea how many D$ you are supposed to get per £ spent
6% back in Discovery Dollars at Platinum level according to this recent HfP article https://www.headforpoints.com/2024/02/16/sea-containers-and-100-shoreditch-join-global-hotel-alliance/. I presume this will be calculated on the before tax room rate (and possibly also F&B spend).
Platinum also gives you extra benefits on top – an upgrade to the next room category, a local amenity, 3pm late check-out, so worth it for the £11-12 outlay if you are likely to do the odd GHA stay I reckon.
How is the paper subscription $10 cheaper than the digital edition though?!
Wait, ignore my comment about the digital edition – it is $23 BEFORE the 40% discount, so it works out at $14.99, roughly the same as the cheaper print edition prices I was seeing (which you need to have a physical address in India/Pakistan for!) …
Bumping this as the Business Traveller discounted deal runs to June 30th and my enrolment has given me GHA Platinum status to end of 2026 so great value at around £12 ($14.99 discounted price for digital edition) for 2 1/2 years status and benefits:

How did you manage to get it until end 2026? Website says 2025….
Honestly no idea why but it says Plat membership expires 31 December 2026 so reporting it here as at £5 a year for the next 30 months seems a no brainer!
@dmm27 what does your membership duration say?

I also have it to the end of 2026 using the same route.
Little bit of an old one but has anyone done this recently?
Signed up for Business Traveller. Emailed about 3 different people to get the GHA and had nothing back.
Did you sign up for the Asia-Pacific version?
Indeed. Partner also signed up to UK one which had the same benefit listed.
Same emails as our GHA Disc accounts. Didnt know if it was auto applied, or if that it has to be modified after contacting someone.
